Our Response to the SDGs

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the United Nations in 2015 are a global initiative which establishes 17 goals and 169 targets for creating a bountiful and vibrant future to be achieved on a global scale by 2030.

SoftBank Corp. is committed to enhancing corporate value and realizing a sustainable society by contributing to the achievement of the SDGs pursued by the international community through business and corporate activities based on its strength in technology.

SoftBank's approach to
the SDGs

The Cabinet Office is advocating a new type of society called “Society 5.0” which balances economic development with the resolution of social issues through a system which fuses cyberspace and physical (real) space to an advanced degree. Technology is essential for the “Society 5.0 for SDGs” concept publicized by KEIDANREN (Japan Business Federation) which balances economic development with the resolution of social issues through the maximal utilization of innovative technologies to achieve the SDGs.

As a company that provides telecommunications and technologies as our main business, we believe that contributing to the SDGs not only leads us to help solve social issues in various situations, but it will also become a driving force to respond to the demands of external stakeholders and further propel our business and company growth.
